AND ACTUALLY... I was thinking about poking you about that possibility, so. UuU I'm enjoying mooching off of people's AUs so there's that oooooor vaguely put-together Korra-timeline Councilman Sokka. Even though that show won't tell me anything about his life and choices.

YES PLEASE. You can hop on my AU IF YOU WANT!! Aang died fighting Ozai, so three years later Katara is depressed and hiding in the Southern Water Tribe training the new Avatar. And that gives Sokka range to do whatever he wants because Korra never happened.

I ALSO LOVE THE COUNCILMAN SOKKA IDEA, THOUGH, ngl. I will SUPPORT EITHER ONE.

The former might be a little easier for icons, actual history, and such. I WILL BRAINSTORM and also let me know if you'd like anything in particular established on that front. Otherwise, I'm just going to be like "idk Sokka does White Lotus stuff and jumps around the world and then comes to stare at Katara now and again and be overbearing."

Yes, especially since Katara really likes Josh, so THERE'S THAT. I can picture her just vacillating between I LIKE LAURIE I WANT TO BE FRIENDS and SHOULD I EVEN WANT TO BE FRIENDS THIS IS SO COMPLICATED.

yes, yes to all of this, yes. I did mention once or twice that Sokka keeps trying to get Katara to get out of the South Pole and do real people stuff so that definitely works.

I feel like that's an accurate description of how all of Laurie's relationship's work. tbh she'll probably have a tendency towards passive-aggressive dickishness involving the Josh situation, because... Well. Dickishness.

Yeahhhh not sure how long Katara will be able to do the Josh thing given how hung up he is on Laurie, KATARA IS GOING TO FEEL SO AWKWARD.

Makes for good storytelling tho.
