Oh, totally a hot mess. Even though I nixed the X-Force & Necrosha shit from Josh's background, he still very much killed Stryker to ~avenge~ Laurie (so to start his spiral into weird-twisty-but-zen!Josh)

So when she came back, I'm sure there was a lot of LaaAAAuuuUuuRRRrRRriiIIieeEEEe going on LMAO. Fighting tooth and nail to make her 'come to her senses' when she was up against them.

Now that she's on their side, I imagine he's got a really annoying tendency to hover and make sure she's as okay as she can be. Definitely pines after her, sometimes and is quite obvious about it, for sure but would have wanted to give her a lot of space seeing as how she came back from the dead and all LMAO Well that and the fact that she's Laurie but Not Quite Since It's Complicated.

Despite the clusterfuck of emotions, I like to think that Josh would be as friendly as Laurie would let him be otherwise (ie. on his good days). HOWEVER I'm open to breathing room on any of this for anything you have in mind and/or stuff that could have happened (good or bad) between them since her return.

That all sounds well and good.

I imagine Laurie, for her part, kind of fluxes between being standoffish and... I don't want to say clingy. Maybe 'aggressive' is a better word? I need to outline her job's circumstances and the details of her conditioning more, but I seem to be leaning towards having her be far less timid with a lot of things, even while she's still wildly introverted with an inability to talk about her feelings.

So she'll fluctuate between wanting things and not wanting things, and she'll remember that she loved him but not be sure how real that is/was, but he's at least trying to be nice now, and etc. LIFE'S CONFUSING... She'll feel like it's something she has to get ahold of, so she may or may not have a tendency to do unintentionally mean things now and again just to feel in control of the situation. (Because, again, those are her major issues. Her life's been out of her hands for ages.)

lmao watch as I try to come up with a way to word this potential relationship... She'll be halfway shut down until she decides she needs to reestablish connections, potentially via coming on really strong. Also, there will be deadpanning either way.

Well, they are scent-based, but yes. They're also really god-mode-y, so idk bro. If you feel like having Matt mysteriously experience the occasional mood-swing from several apartments away, go for it. If not, you're definitely not under any obligation to have him affected.

She doesn't actively use her powers in her day-to-day unless she's after something, so it might not be a huge issue anyway.

That said, I'm open to plotting if you ever want Matt to fall into an emotional manipulation trap. o/
